Description
Employee would be responsible for teaching a classroom with 10-20 students at a time as the classroom teacher for a given class in grades 1-5. Teacher would be responsible for instruction in all disciplines of curriculum, including reading, English/language arts, math, science, social studies, and Bible. This teacher would be responsible for planning and implementing lessons to engage and interact with students while imparting knowledge and understanding of subject matter. Teacher would also be responsible for preparing and administering classroom assignments and tests following guidelines set forth by curriculum and/or administration. The teacher would integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and use valid teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals and promote student learning. The teacher should be passionate about teaching and helping students grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually.Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in education, early childhood development, or related field.

Preferred experience working with children in a school setting.

State or ACSI certification or eligibility to obtain certification (can be obtained after hire).

Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.

Be a born-again Christian who is exemplary in his/her Christian walk.

Above all, the teacher would be expected to set an example of the importance of prayer, Bible study, witnessing, and unity in Christian fellowship as well as a model of a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ in speech, actions, and attitudes.

Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students, challenging each to do his or her best work.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and co-workers.

Adapt lessons and curriculum to accommodate students of different academic and learning needs.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide the best education possible for our students.

Prepare and submit weekly lesson plans for the administrator’s review.

Assess the learning of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.

Cooperate with the administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school.

Accept a share of responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.

Contribute to the growth and development of Community Christian Academy.

Contribute to the general improvement of the school program.
