Get to Know the Non-Profit of the Year

Columbia County Community Connections (CCCC) was awarded the Non-Profit of the Year award at Ignite 19th Annual Banquet. CCCC boasts a 20-year history of significant impact in Harlem and Grovetown. Renowned for its positive youth development programs, including free afterschool and summer camp initiatives, CCCC has left a lasting legacy as former program participants, now parents, enroll their children in the same programs. The organization's Saturday Sacks program, a weekend feeding initiative with over 400 weekly beneficiaries, showcases the community-wide support it receives from partners throughout Columbia County.

Notably, parents who once benefited from CCCC's programs now contribute to community taskforces, such as suicide prevention and drug-free coalitions. The invaluable support from the county government, Columbia County Firefighters' annual boot fundraiser, and assistance from Harlem and Grovetown municipalities highlight the broad community backing. The City of Grovetown recently made a donation to CCCC, further emphasizing its role as a local nonprofit serving the community.

Financial accountability is a cornerstone of CCCC's success, as the organization, audited yearly due to state and federal grant funding, maintains a commitment to ethical practices. A diverse Board of Directors, comprising professionals from various fields, meets regularly to ensure varied perspectives and robust accountability. The organization's mission to provide valuable community programs aligns seamlessly with its commitment to fiscal responsibility, contributing to its historical financial success. The enduring partnership with the Columbia County School District, particularly through the GaDoe-funded 21st-century afterschool program, further underscores CCCC's commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and community well-being.
