SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Reporter Producer – a unique position within the WFXG Newsroom, must be able to produce a newscast, as assigned and determined by News management, as well as must be able to report on the day’s events when required. This is a dual role to Report and/or Produce – as assigned tasks are designated by the News Director.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and produce stories for air, web, and social media platforms as assigned by Producer or News
management for newscasts, specials, and special projects
• Report live from the field or studio as assigned by News management
• Look for points of differentiation in storytelling, including walking & talking in stand-ups and live shots
• Work independently with excellent editorial judgement
• Responsible for completion of daily assignments from news management
• Produce content for all newscasts, and publish to WFXG.com and all social media platforms daily
• Responsible for story ideas in daily editorial meetings when assigned.
• Responsible to be on-call as assigned and in the event of breaking news
• Work with news management in preparing a newscast. Must be creative in building a newscast utilizing all resources of the WFXG newsroom
• Work directly with reporters in the field and the assignment desk
• Have excellent communication skills and interact with production staff and news management
• Drive and operate all news vehicles as necessary in the execution of assigned duties
• Promote, support and champion the WFXG brand
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Good eyesight and hearing, ability to walk up-stairs and sometimes long distances, ability to lift weights up to 10 pounds, ability to sit for a long period of time, ability to handle often stressful situations under deadline, good manual and overall physical dexterity.
